ALBANY (Scrap Monster): West Chester, Ohio based steel maker-A K Steel Holding Corporation has announced that the company will cut the prices of all stainless steel products by lowering the alloy surcharge.
According to company press release, the alloy surcharge of 304 stainless steel for July shipment will be reduced by nearly 3.25% to $0.5715 per lb from $0.5907 per lb in June.
The company has also cut the alloy surcharge by 1.52% for 201 stainless steel from $0.3883 per lb in June this year to $0.3832 per lb with effect from July shipments.
The alloy surcharge for 316 stainless steel will be $0.7515, nearly 4.17% lower when compared with the alloy surcharge of $0.7842 per lb during June shipments.

On the other hand, AK Steel has hiked the alloy surcharge for 430 stainless steel from $0.1801 per lb in June this year to $0.1905 per lb from July shipment onwards.
A K Steel is one of the leading stainless steel players in the US that roll out several products including carbon, stainless and electrical steels, cold rolled and aluminium coated stainless steel for automakers.
It must be noted that all major European stainless steel makers had earlier announced changes in alloy surcharges for the month of July.
